Doha is gearing up to host the much-anticipated second edition of Web Summit Qatar 2025 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) from February 2 to 26. With over 25,000 tickets already sold, the event is poised to solidify Qatar’s position as a leading global hub for technology and innovation.
The Government Communications Office (GCO) has confirmed that preparations are in full swing for the tech extravaganza, which is part of a long-term partnership extending until 2028. This strategic initiative aims to foster a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem and attract top-tier innovators from around the world.
A Global Platform for Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Web Summit Qatar 2025 is expected to be a game-changer for the Middle East’s technology landscape. The event will host more than 1,500 startups, with 46% of them founded by women, reflecting the growing inclusivity in the global tech space. Furthermore, Qatari startup participation has surged by an impressive 140% compared to last year.
Attendees can expect to engage with over 300 influential speakers, 600 investors, 150 business partners, and 600 media representatives from across the world. These figures highlight the event’s rising prominence as a must-attend gathering for technology and business leaders.
HE Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani, Director of the GCO and Chairman of the Permanent Web Summit Organising Committee, emphasized Qatar’s commitment to fostering innovation. “Our primary goal in hosting this event is to develop the tech sector in Qatar and reinforce the State’s standing as a leading regional hub. Investing in technology and innovation aligns with Qatar’s National Vision 2030, ensuring sustainable economic growth and development,” he said.
International Recognition and Increased Participation
Web Summit CEO Paddy Cosgrave highlighted the event’s exponential growth. “Eighty-five percent of the startups exhibiting at the summit are international, and in just a year, startup participation has increased by more than 50%,” he noted.
Additionally, the number of investors attending from around the world has risen by 50%, with approximately 90% traveling from outside Qatar. Cosgrave emphasized that Web Summit Qatar has grown into more than just a regional event—it is now a global gathering of technology pioneers, investors, and industry leaders.
“With more than 200 Qatari startups participating, we are witnessing a rapid evolution in the country’s startup ecosystem,” he added.
