From September 14th to 17th, 2024, MozParks, alongside over 20 Mozambican companies from diverse sectors such as agriculture, industry, transportation, logistics, communications, trade, and services, participated in a significant Business Mission to Doha, Qatar. This mission aimed to attract new investments and forge strategic partnerships to bolster economic ties between Mozambique and Qatar.
MozParks’ Role and Objectives
MozParks, a key player in Mozambique’s industrial development, was prominently represented by its General Director, Onório Manuel. Manuel delivered a compelling presentation and engaged in discussions to reinforce economic relations between Mozambique and Qatar. The focus was on key areas such as industrial development, energy, agro-industry, and logistics.
In his speech, Manuel emphasized the growing significance of Mozambique’s industrial sector. He stated, “MozParks is honored to spearhead the development of industrial parks and contribute to the advancement of the Mozambican economy. Our goal is to create sustainable economic zones that not only drive industrial growth and job creation but also attract international partners to support Mozambique’s broader development.”
Forum and Networking Opportunities
The Qatar-Mozambique Investment Forum, co-organized by the Confederation of Business Associations of Mozambique (CTA), the Embassy of Mozambique in Qatar, APIEX, the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI), and the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), was a pivotal event. It brought together over 20 Mozambican business leaders, who explored potential investment opportunities and partnerships with their Qatari counterparts.
The Mozambican delegation had the opportunity to visit several prominent Qatari companies, including Qatar Petroleum, Qatar Financial Centre, and BALADNA. BALADNA is renowned as Qatar’s largest producer of fresh dairy products. These visits were instrumental in strengthening economic ties and laying the groundwork for future collaborations in industrial development, agro-processing, and energy sectors.
